Nicola Dracoulis is a portrait and social documentary photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. A graduate of the London College of Communication’s MA Photojournalism, she has produced work in the UK, Brazil and Australia. Dracoulis captures the fleeting subtleties of human behaviour, the dynamic exertions of performance and creativity, as well as the warmth and strength of communal life.
Her major personal work focusses on the lives of generations emerging in changing and challenging cultural climates. She is currently working on two major pieces of work, one based in Hackney, London and one in Melbourne, Australia.
The last installment of her long term project Viver No Meio do Barulho/Living in the Middle of the Noise †Rio de Janeiro 2013 was shown as a featured exhibition at Head On Photo Festival 2014.
